About Us

OUR PET SITTERS ARE EMPLOYEES

Unlike other dog walking & pet sitting providers, our walkers and our sitters are employees – not independent contractors. Most pet sitting companies use independent contractors instead of hiring employees.

What is the difference? By law, a business cannot train or guide independent contractors, and they cannot specify exactly how the business of pet sitting is carried out. Independent contractors can substitute whomever they wish to do a job, without notice to the owner of the company hiring them, or to the client. That means that ANYONE can be entering your home, and they may not be screened, bonded and insured.

As employees, our sitters are fully bonded, insured and trained by us, following our guidelines, policies and procedures. We provide ongoing training, and give our customers the guarantee that only an experienced, bonded and insured employee of our company will enter their homes and care for their pets. We also can provide benefits and incentives to keep our employees at Pawsitive Steps long term, providing you consistency, and the best possible care. Pawsitive Steps chooses only the most responsible animal lovers to join our pet sitting, dog walking team and puts new hires through a rigorous background and screening checks that include, US County Criminal Search, Residency History, Social Security Verification, and Nationwide Sexual Offender Index Search.

In addition, all walker & sitters are insured through Kennel Pro.

About the Company

Pawsitive Steps has been servicing the Nashville area since 2010. What sets Pawsitive Steps apart is our team. Teamwork is likely to achieve greater results than individuals working on their own. A supervisor is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Every sitter knows that with one phone call, they can get advice or an extra pair of hands immediately! As a client, you know that anytime, night or day, weekend or holiday, our team of professionals is there to take care of your home and your smallest family members. We believe that the confidentiality and value of every client must be recognized and respected at all times.

Our Mission

To provide urban dogs with the daily exercise they require; enhancing their health, happiness, and overall quality of life. We accomplish this by interacting with our community, clients, and their dogs in a way that is consistent with our business principles.

Our Business Principles

Animals come first: Our most important commitment is to the animals and their needs, not profit or convenience. We exist to meet their fitness needs and enhance their quality of life.

Client commitment and relationships: Our relationship with each and every client is second only to the needs of their pets. We strive to ensure that each client is 100% satisfied with the services we provide them. Integrity: Our clients entrust us with their pets and their homes. If we make a mistake we take responsibility for it and work hard to find an acceptable way to correct the situation.

Honesty: Each client receives the length and quality of the walk they have paid for each and every time we service their dog. Any incidents that occur while servicing a pet will be reported to the client.

Exceptional Service: Provide exceptional service to our clients and to the communities in which we serve on a daily basis.

About The Staff

Our Staff Walkers and Sitters are, of course the very heart of a dog walking & pet sitting company. Because of their value to our business, Pawsitive Steps strives to employ the very best and are proud to provide you with a trained professional who has your pet’s best interest at heart.

About the Owner

I started Pawsitive Steps for ONE reason, I love animals and wanted to provide clients with options when it came to the care of their pets. From my experience as a lifelong pet owner, I knew precisely what other pet owners were looking for and what I could gladly provide… responsible, affectionate, active companionship.

I worked in the corporate world for 10 years and I just couldn’t imagine spending another day under florescent lighting. My experience in big business, customer service, and professionalism transcends into everything Pawsitive Steps does.

I myself have 3 dogs, all rescues, which is something that I am passionate about. My dogs are my children, and I couldn’t imagine my life without them. They are my heart and soul.

Noah

Is a girl, yes a girl with a boy’s name. Noah is the real boss at Pawsitive Steps. She’s my first love and the Alpha in our office. Sweet but bossy, she’s a girl who knows what she wants and it’s usually a carrot treat.

Odie

Is all boy! A 50 pound lap dog and the sensitive one in the office. Always beside us he is a loyal companion who adores his mommy and is shy of strangers. He heads up the welcome committee when other doggie guests come to stay.

Jagger

Is the baby and the newest addition to the Pawsitive Steps family. He keeps us laughing as his puppy exploration and clumsy antics keep him entertaining us for hours.

It gives me immense satisfaction to know that our clients, just in choosing a pet care service, are thinking about their pet’s happiness and well being. That fact alone, keeps us striving to be better than the day before and to only provide the best pet care Nashville has to offer. I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies.
